We have been pretty slack with our blog entries of late, we have both been quite busy at work. Our job of taking over the world has been harder than I expected :)Well we are mid-way through the long weekend, the Queen's bday weekend. Our friends Claire and Kenny from Aberdeen/Kuala Lumpur have been visiting Melbourne this weekend so we have been having fun catching up with them and doing some fun things. Yesterday we ventured to the Good Food and Wine expo and watched a demonstration by none other than Gordon Ramsay. It was great to see him in action, and despite what the complainers in the Melbourne Herald Sun newspaper say, I think he is funny. We had great seats not too far from the stage, close enough to see the wrinkles on his forehead (although you could probably still see those if you were sitting in the back row!). Claire did her best to get us up on stage but we were unsuccessful.

Afterwards we went to a couple of pubs on Brunswick street and then went over to Victoria Street for some great chinese food. By that time however, Claire and I were quite tipsy after drinking quite a bit of red wine at the expo and pubs. So we thought that perhaps the patrons in the chinese restaurant would like to hear our version of the Bangles "Manic Monday" backed up by some Annie Lennox songs (...this is where Al would say "she is from Aberdeen"). We had a little bit of practise when we jumped on stage at a smaller bar earlier on in the night. Very funny time.

Tomorrow we are off to the Queens bday AFL game between Collingwood and Melbourne. A trip to Australia wouldn't be complete without taking our guests to an AFL game.
In other news, Al recently started a new job which he is enjoying. There has been a lot for him to learn and a couple of nights working back but he likes it and the people he works with seem nice which is great.
It is starting to get cold here too. I purchased a hot water bottle today because it is still cold at night even with our two heaters on! I probably have no right to complain about the cold when Al has informed me of how cold it gets in Scotland....I guess if I was to live there I would have to purchase 2 or more hot water bottles.
I will leave it here. We will try to keep our blog updated more regularly. Hope you are all well x
