Sydney City to Surf - The biggest fun run in the world!

Thats right, the Sydney City to Surf is the biggest fun run in the world with approximately 80,000 people turning up to run the 14kms from Sydney CBD to Bondi Beach. http://city2surf.sunherald.com.au/

This fact begins our new blog entry because Al has just participated in this event with other work colleagues and performed superbly. Dodging people left, right and centre, Al ran this distance in approximately 77mins, just over 5min km's! Now being someone who has only ever cracked the 5min km over a 5km distance max, I am pretty impressed by his efforts. Perhaps I will train and join in next year.

In other news, it is just over one month until we leave for our overseas trip. We will be visiting Kuala Lumper for two days, then Madrid for one day, followed by Lisbon for one week and then Aberdeen for another week. We are very excited! I hear the Custard Tarts in Lisbon are a must. Al is also keen to visit some soccer stadiums. I hope these soccer stadiums don't have seagulls the size of infants like Aberdeen does! Quite scary! The weekend prior to overseas we will be off to Adelaide, South Australia. I will be attending a conference while Al does some sight seeing and touristy stuff. Nice place, but the Barossa will have to wait for another. Can't rush one of Australia's finest wine regions.
