G'day to thee. Today is Sunday, day of rest - but not for the Aljo household. Oh no, it's work work work, interspersed only with a splash of football - both soccer and aussie rules. I, thats me, Al, am studying in a beaverish stylee for my two remaining exams this week, and Jo-licious has a fair bit of work-related stuff to do before we head off on our European adventure in 12 days time. No time for the usual loafing around and playing monopoly, scrabble or swanning around Melbourne like a couple of classy backpackers...
We will have the Collingwood v Carlton game on in the background this afternoon, we support the former, flying the flag for the mighty 'Pies and trying in vain to dispel the myth that all Collingwood fans are filthy mutts with nae teeth and even less brains.... Mon e Pies!
Back on the subject of European adventures, I am one happy young jock right now, as after almost 18 months of trying, we finally have Foxtel installed, allowing me to frustrate Jo with my couch-potato like disposition watching endless replays of the Euro 2008 games. Hurrah! The added bonus of having IQ (which is equivalent to SKY+ back in Blighty) allows me to record the games and watch them at a reasonable hour. Just what I needed a week before my exams.
As I said we are only a couple of weeks from our overseas trip and are delighted at this prospect of travelling and of seeing friends and family again. Also looking forward to some summer weather, we're now in winter and whilst its not proper cold here, its nae warm.
Doubly smashing news this week was the wedding of our good friends James and Shelley, congratulations again guys, Northern Ireland's equivalent to Brad and Angelina no less (maybe without the adopted african babies :).... And, my main man George is only weeks away from joining the exodus to Oz following the timely sale of his flat. Ripper!
No other news this end, will keep you all posted on any interesting happenings. We are doing well in maintaining the blog thus far, novelty or not, we are keen on keeping it up so keep visiting the site and feel free to comment on the blogs. Any advice appreciated.
To paraphrase a recent aussie big brother contestant... It's hoo roo to you roo from the blog gurus....
Al & Jo
